On-Demand Delivery of Instructional Video Content

Efficient storage, management, and streaming of video content are vital to providing your teachers and students with a variety of on-demand learning materials.  SANS multimedia servers are scalable and can be configured for educational programs with small or large video libraries.

The Technology

SANS Servers use RAID 5 (Redundant Array of Independent Disks, Level 5) technology. Content delivery performance as well as fault tolerance benefit for this technology scheme helping to ensure that your audio/video teaching materials are readily available and protected.

Benefits:

  • Provides real-time data recovery with uninterrupted access when a hard drive fails
  • Increases system uptime and network availability
  • Protects against data loss
  • With multiple drives working in parallel system performance increases

Content Storage Requirements

Your local SANS representative will work with you and/or your IT Department to determine the server configuration that will best suit your needs.

In general, the amount of disk storage necessary is calculated based on the amount (in hours) and type of audio/video teaching materials that you have.
