It’s a wrap!  The 2019 AP® World Language Exams are completed. According to recent stats from The College Board, over 225,000 exams are taken by world language students annually.

With so much time spent on curriculum development and intense student preparation, the first two weeks in May seem to go by in a flash – and then the wait is on.  AP Readers, made up of qualified high school teachers and college faculty, will evaluate and score the exams in June as students await their results.

What’s Your Game Plan?

AP® exams are less than a month away.  With over 200,000 AP world languages exams being taken, there are thousands of language teachers prepping students to help them do their best. IT staff and AP coordinators are reviewing The College Board testing guidelines to ensure that the exams are administered equitably and responses are submitted to The College Board’s Digital Audio Submission (DAS) portal without a hitch.

We too, at SANS Inc., are working closely with our clients, schools that use our technology for language classes throughout the year and to administer AP world languages exams each May. We reach out to AP teachers and proctors to be sure they are familiar with the exam mode functionality in our SANSSpace™ LIVE browser-based instructional technology and our Virtuoso™ language lab software.  We’re on board for the entirety of the AP exam schedule to help in any way we can – and we do look forward to positive reviews post-AP exams.

Post AP World Languages Exams 2017 – How Did We Do?

May 23, 2017 Learning Link Blog 2 comments

AP® Exams 2017 are now in the history books. This year The College Board introduced new requirements for digital recording and on-line submission of student responses for the speaking portion of AP World Languages exams. These new rules have had many schools scrambling to figure out the best way to administer the tests.

For those schools using SANS’ Virtuoso™ and SANSSpace™ LIVE technology platforms, concerns about the changes were minimal. Why? Because we have been providing controlled AP digital recording solutions to school language departments for AP exams and other oral testing for more than 10 years, and our technology is fully compliant with The College Board procedures.
